ORIENTATIONCleaning Up The Puzzle Gallery Beginner Guide

Begin with the base gallery: its 2,071 pieces form 87 paintings, and completed puzzles award progress toward skills. My Puzzles and the custom gallery handle your own images; finishing the base game unlocks all challenge modes as of v1.2.11. This is an orientation, not a tested fastest route.

TROUBLESHOOTINGCan’t Find the Last Puzzle Piece? Current Fixes

Update to the latest build, use Resettle in settings, and inspect the affected frames again. Patches v1.2.11–v1.3.1 addressed wrong-slot detection, hidden pieces, unreachable drop areas, and completion cues. If progress still does not trigger, use the in-game report flow; the official notes do not guarantee that every edge case is gone.

CUSTOM PUZZLESHow to Add Custom Images in Cleaning Up The Puzzle Gallery

Use JPG or PNG images. Choose My Puzzles for an individual custom puzzle or the custom gallery for a larger set, then use the game’s Open Folder action to locate the current directory. v1.3.2 blocks Start and shows a message when an image cannot load. No universal pixel size or aspect ratio is confirmed.

COLLECTIONSCustom Gallery Guide: Collections, Piece Count, and Fill

Put images in named subfolders to create custom-gallery collections. v1.3.0 also added low, default, and high piece counts plus a fill choice: include default paintings or repeat your custom images. The patch describes low as roughly half and high as roughly double the default, with a performance warning for high.

PLATFORM STATUSSteam Deck Status and Controller Support

Steam lists the game for Windows and marks full controller support. On August 5, the developer said Valve’s Steam Deck verification was still pending. Players reported successful Deck use, but those reports do not equal an official Verified badge, and this site did not capture a current Valve result.

SETTINGSCleaning Up The Puzzle Gallery Controls & Accessibility

Current official notes confirm movement rebinding, sprint toggle, large text, book zoom, a reduce-flashing option, invert look, and controller reconnect fixes. The developer also says Color Guide can be disabled in settings. A complete current default-key table was not captured, so this page does not invent one.

ACHIEVEMENTSAll 9 Cleaning Up The Puzzle Gallery Achievements

Steam exposes nine achievement conditions: beat the game; listen to five hours of classical music; use the Steam review link; finish under three hours; complete a first My Puzzle; spend 50 skill points; make a 500-piece pile; solve 100 puzzles; and beat one challenge mode. Conditions are official; strategies and mode eligibility may be version-sensitive.

TIMED RUNThe Bull Achievement: An Under-3-Hour Route

The Bull unlocks for finishing the game in under three hours. Two Steam Community guides favor quick early completions and mobility or locating skills; that route is community guidance, not an official or hands-on-tested solution. Save/reload cooldown resets are treated as an unverified, patch-sensitive exploit and are not the primary route here.

SKILL POINTSThe Bracelet Achievement: Spend 50 Skill Points

The Bracelet requires spending 50 skill points. Official v1.2.10 notes say challenge-mode spending counts. Those launch notes still excluded custom modes, but current custom-mode eligibility was not re-tested on v1.3.2, so the safe plan is to use the base game and challenge runs.

PILE TRIGGERThe Hand Achievement: Complete a 500-Piece Puzzle

The Hand requires a pile of 500 pieces. v1.3.0 made it attainable in the custom gallery, and v1.3.2 fixed it in My Puzzles custom-image mode. Older claims that custom modes never count are stale. The official record still does not define the exact radius, overlap, or settling rule for a ‘pile.’

11
PUZZLE COUNTThe Skull Achievement: Which Modes Count?

The Skull requires 100 solved puzzles. In a developer reply, custom modes do not count because max skills and lower piece counts could make the condition easy to exploit. A player in the same thread reports that challenge modes count; that part is community evidence, not an official rule table.

CHALLENGESChallenge Modes: Unlocks and Confirmed Rules

As of v1.2.11, completing the base game unlocks all challenge modes. The store names Black & White and The Big White, with The Big White described as 1,024 white pieces. A developer reply says Janitor Mode removes abilities and the skill tree. A complete current menu roster was not captured.

WINDOWS SAFETYApplication Control Policy Error 0x11C7: Safe Steps

Update Windows and Microsoft Defender, install the latest Steam build, verify the game files, and report the block if it persists. The developer linked launch-day 0x11C7 reports to Windows 11 application control for a new unsigned executable. Do not permanently disable Smart App Control just to launch the game.

SAVE SYSTEMSave Files and Autosave: Confirmed Facts

Steam lists Save Anytime and Steam Cloud. Since v1.2.11, the game autosaves every five minutes as well as after puzzle completion. v1.2.12 added Open Folder and Report a Bug actions that copy relevant paths. No official backup-restore procedure or retained-slot count was found.

PERFORMANCEPerformance Guide: Piles, Piece Counts, and Fixes

Update to v1.3.2 before diagnosing pile-related slowdown. v1.3.0 addressed pieces that failed to sleep in large piles; v1.3.2 changed settling and noise behavior and said it would probably improve performance. In custom galleries, choose low or default instead of high. No official FPS target or GPU-specific settings guide exists.

FEATURE STATUSIs Cleaning Up The Puzzle Gallery Multiplayer?

No current multiplayer or co-op mode is listed. Steam marks the game single-player. In v1.3.0 notes, the developer said multiplayer still needed more work and testing before it could be released. That is development intent, not an announced feature date.
