Custom Gallery Guide: Collections, Piece Count, and Fill

DIRECT ANSWER

Put images in named subfolders to create custom-gallery collections. v1.3.0 also added low, default, and high piece counts plus a fill choice: include default paintings or repeat your custom images. The patch describes low as roughly half and high as roughly double the default, with a performance warning for high.

The multipliers are the developer’s approximate patch wording, not a fixed count for every gallery.

E1 source: Official patch notes — v1.3.0

Why this page exists: A player wants to organize a larger custom collection and choose a sensible piece count.

Build collections with subfolders

On v1.3.0, a folder inside the custom-gallery folder becomes a collection. The patch says collection names are used by the map and puzzle book, giving a large import a navigable structure.

Choose piece count before visual ambition

The official patch calls low about half and high about twice the default. Those are relative descriptions, not a universal final count. Start with low or default if performance matters.

  • Low: lighter collection workload.
  • Default: the baseline choice.
  • High: denser gallery, with an explicit system-capacity warning.

Decide how empty frames are filled

The fill option can use built-in paintings or repeat loaded custom images. The official record does not document an exact repeat order, so this guide does not promise one.
